ANAMBRA STATE ASSOCIATION of GREATER PHILADELPHIA REGION, (ASA-PHILA) is a 501 (c) (3), non-profit charitable organization comprising mostly of indigenes of Anambra State residing in the Greater Philadelphia Region including but not limited to New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania. This association is a non-profit civic entity pursuing independent and non-partisan course. All members of our association volunteer our time and resources in helping others, especially in our state of origin, Anambra State of Nigeria and in our communities here in USA.
The mission of the organization include, but not limited to;
A non-profit, charitable Association dedicated to promoting a strong cohesive Anambra community here in Philadelphia and its surroundings.
To provide social network systems that encourages interactions, mutual support, cooperation and economic human development between other Nigerians, here in the United States and Diaspora.
To create cultural awareness among our children by exposing them to and involving them in different Igbo cultural events and Igbo language.
To promote educational, cultural and social interactions between Americans and Nigerians, with a view to promoting cultural understanding and friendship between the two groups.
To generate financial resources through fundraising and charitable donations in order to carry out the goals and objectives of the Association.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
GOAL: To provide a forum for ANAMBRA STATE indigenes in the diaspora to communicate and exchange ideas, for the development of their communities, constituencies in and around Philadelphia and in the homeland in general.
OBJECTIVES: The objectives of the association shall include, but are not limited to:
1.Promoting cooperation and understanding among Anambra State indigenes in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
2.Encouraging and promoting industry, welfare, education and economic advancement of Anambra State of Nigeria.
3.Acting as a watchdog to ensure good governance in the administration of Anambra State of Nigeria.
4.Pursuing other objectives(s) as determined and approved by the organization’s general assembly.
