Dr. Azubuike Ezeife- Vice President

Chief Sir Ikechukwu A. Okorji - Secretary

Dr. Paul Lewis Ezeukwu - Treasurer

I am Chris Emeka Uddoh, MD, F.A.C.O.G. I hail from Ogidi in Anambra State. Port Harcourt, Aba, and Onitsha were where I grew up. There, as throughout the length and breadth of Igbo land hard work, responsibility, self-discipline, friendship, courage, perseverance, honesty, loyalty, faith and compassion were virtues so close and dear to the daily lives of everyday people, you could say these strong core values were written in their DNA. Add three years of a brutal civil war, sudden maturity dawned on lots of people, many became turbo charged. Any wonder why Ndigbo in significant numbers thrive by bursting their behind in all the countries of the world. These capital values led me through Secondary school at CKC Onitsha and another one year at Edo Government College in Benin City to complete my final year in High School that was interrupted by the civil war.
The wintry months of December 1971 saw me at the shores of USA, where I caught the second wind. That took me through college, Medical School, Residency training in OB/GYN and Professional practice. I feel honored to be the President of ASA-Philadelphia organization. Along with it comes what I have always known - that leadership matters.
I am married to a fellow Physician, Nkolika from Ikenga-Ogidi. We have three grown children- Chudi, Nonye and Ikedi. Blessed as the soil of USA is, as I grow long in the teeth, powerful, nostalgic forces beckon me, for who among us does not wish to give back to a Homeland that gave us breath and nurtured us with those core values. Ndigbo in the past still aflame with those essential values that sustained them overseas, at the end of their studies rushed back home as if they had a pot of gold waiting for them. The reverse is the case now. So where is the middle ground? ASA-Philadelphia is the place to be. Even with all the gloom and doom about the Homeland, it is not just that we should keep hope alive which we must but more importantly we just can’t sit back. Remember those core values, those invaluable capitals, they are our wings. Come and join us at ASA-Philadelphia where we seriously engage in keeping hope alive.
